    Healthcare

    Dr. Kamholz has broad experience contributing to the clinical, education, and research missions of VA Boston Healthcare System, a complex, patient-centered, outcomes-oriented, organization that provides outpatient behavioral healthcare to approximately 11,000 veterans annually.

    • Since 2008, she has been Associate Director, Outpatient Mental Health Services, and is responsible for strategic planning, procurement of resources, oversight, and operations for five community-based outpatient clinics and system-wide suicide prevention efforts.

    • Previously, Dr. Kamholz served as Co-Director of the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Clinic and Director of Practicum Training.

    Education

    At Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Kamholz is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Director of Training in Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment in the psychiatry residence program.

    • She has developed multiple training curricula, with demonstrated learning effects.

    • Dr. Kamholz has been awarded 7 federal grants worth a total of over $5M, and has over 60 academic publications and presentations addressing behavioral health difficulties and treatment, interprofessional education, and intersectional training of self-identified women.

    Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

    Dr. Kamholz is dedicated to using her leadership positions to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion within organizations and to center marginalized communities. She is focused on creating culturally-competent training programs, and approaches this work with humility and curiosity.

  • Non-Profit Associations

    For over a decade, Dr. Kamholz has served in leadership and governance roles for the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). She has contributed to organizational stewardship and strategic planning for these mission-driven associations, and has developed and implemented in-person and virtual conferences (prior to COVID-related necessity). Since 2018, Dr. Kamholz has been a Senior Advisor to ADAA. She has served on the Editorial Board and as Associate Editor for the ABCT publication, Cognitive and Behavioral Practice. 

    • In 2021, Dr. Kamholz was elected to the Board of Directors for ABCT by an association-wide vote, and based on a platform focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and social justice. 
    • Dr. Kamholz works to increase representation in presenters and topics, and to elevate expert speakers who are also members of marginalized or minoritized communities.
    • Her work also includes building partnerships across organizations.
